Description
The Senior HVAC Service Technician handles troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of advanced commercial HVAC systems. This is a service role, not new construction install, focused on keeping mission-critical equipment in hospitals, data centers, and high-rise commercial properties running at peak performance.
The right candidate is a career service technician who takes pride in solving the hard problems other techs walk away from. You will be the senior expert in the field, mentoring junior techs, building customer trust, and representing the brand on every job site.
Requirements
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and maintain commercial HVAC systems including chillers, air handlers, rooftop units, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VAVs, and controls
- Execute preventive maintenance inspections and document all findings in a service management system
- Recommend repair vs. replacement options with clear justification and cost implications
- Serve as the direct point of contact with customers during service calls: explain issues, timelines, and solutions in plain language
- Model and enforce strict safety protocols; lead by example in safety practices on every job site
- Collaborate with dispatch, purchasing, and operations to keep jobs moving efficiently
- Mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
- Track parts usage, labor hours, and job progress; update work orders and documentation accurately
- Monitor recurring failures and field patterns; suggest improvements to parts inventory, processes, or field standards
- Respond to emergency calls and after-hours service as needed
