The Opportunity
Join our team as a General Service Engineer, where you will be the backbone of our supermarket refrigeration team. This is a Full-Time, Union position designed for a technician who thrives on technical variety—from repairing complex multi-compressor units to triaging advanced energy management alarms. We provide on-the-job training to build your troubleshooting skills to become a stable and successful technician.
Key Responsibilities
Expert Maintenance & Repair: Perform all levels of service on commercial equipment, including electric motors, compressors, RTUs, walk-in coolers, freezers, and remote condensing units.
System Triage & Troubleshooting: Monitor and respond to refrigeration alarms. Troubleshoot electronic components and diagnose issues using diagrams and schematics.
Advanced Controls: Utilize general knowledge of energy management systems (EMS) like Danfoss and CPC to optimize system performance.
Installation: Lead the replacement and installation of refrigeration system components and associated hardware.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all repairs meet Food Safety and regulatory requirements, handling code violations with precision.
Digital Reporting: Manage service tickets, receipts, and time tracking via Verisae, Google Suite, and Chromebook.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Technical Aptitude: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues independently.
Communication: Ability to clearly explain "break/fix" actions to management and store teams.
Physical Readiness: Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and comfortably work off ladders and on roofs.
On-call rotation and handle after-hours emergency overtime as needed.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Education: 2 years of technical Refrigeration/HRVAC trade school.
Certification: Valid EPA 608 Certificate (required for handling/purchasing refrigerant).
Valid Class E Chauffeur’s Drivers License (or the ability to obtain one).
