And wait until you meet our employees, we believe in our team and know you will, too.About the Role:The Commercial HVAC Service Technician ensures optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial buildings. This position focuses on hands-on service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of HVAC equipment rather than sales activities. The technician will be responsible for identifying system issues, performing routine inspections, and implementing corrective measures to maintain system reliability and compliance with industry standards. Working closely with building managers and other technical staff, the technician ensures that HVAC systems operate within specified parameters to provide comfortable and safe environments. Ultimately, this role contributes to minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of commercial HVAC systems through expert technical service and maintenance.Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License, EPA certification, and HVAC TDLR certifications.Proven experience working with commercial HVAC systems including installation, maintenance, and repair.Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools, meters, and software for system analysis.Strong understanding of HVAC controls, system components, and industry standards.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.State boiler operator license preferred.Experience with electronic control systems.Ability to read complex blueprints.Skill in reading wiring diagrams.Proficiency with brazing and soldering.Knowledge of local mechanical codes.
- Experience with advanced HVAC control systems and building automation.Familiarity with energy efficiency practices and green HVAC technologies.Prior experience working in a construction or commercial facilities environment.Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on preventive maintenance.Boiler and Chiller experienceWalk in freezer experience
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation.Use HVAC meters, diagnostic tools, and software to analyze system performance and identify faults or inefficiencies.Adhere to HVAC industry standards and safety regulations while conducting all service activities.Document service reports, maintenance activities, and parts used accurately in company systems.Collaborate with other technicians and building personnel to coordinate service schedules and system upgrades.Troubleshoot commercial chiller systems.Diagnose centrifugal and reciprocating chillers. Repair industrial steam boiler systems.Maintain low-pressure and high-pressure boilers.Fix commercial walk-in refrigeration units.Service reach-in coolers and freezers.Replace defective compressors and evaporators.Charge systems with correct refrigerants.Inspect water chemistry in boilers.Test safety valves and controls.Analyze system pressure and temperatures. Overhaul faulty pumps and motors.
