Company History

Service Solutions Group was created in 2004 through the merger of Authorized Commercial Service in Arizona, Barker’s Food Machinery Service in California and Certified Service Center in Ohio and Kentucky. Each of the three platform companies had a long history of serving their local markets, the youngest company having done so for 27-years.
The principles of each of the platform companies are leaders within the food equipment service industry and remain fully engaged in the operation of Service Solutions Group.

Notable Accomplishments / Recognition

Service Solutions Group distributes replacement parts and provides service for commercial food equipment and HVAC systems. Our customers include hotels, schools, hospitals, company cafeterias and, of course, restaurants of all types. Recognizable organizations such as: Hilton, Arizona State University, Mayo Clinic, Intel, Toyota, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Cracker Barrel are but a few examples of the thousands of customers that depend upon our services.
To support these customers, we maintain a high level of expertise in electric, gas, electronic, steam and refrigeration equipment. As the complexity of this equipment evolves, maintaining our high level of expertise becomes an on-going challenge. A challenge that Service Solutions Group is uniquely capable of meeting through our industry-leading technical training and education programs.

Training is a core competency of Service Solutions Group. In fact, our industry’s trade association, the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA), depends upon Service Solutions Group founder and Vice President, Bob Barasch, to produce the curriculum and training manuals for the technician training program that it provides to its members. In other words, we wrote the book on training technicians for the food equipment industry!
Our standard technician training modules include electric, gas, steam, basic and advanced refrigeration, HVAC as well as specific equipment type training (steamers, fryers, conveyer ovens, etc.) All sessions involve classroom time and most include hands-on training. This training is augmented through the brand-specific training provided by the equipment manufacturers themselves.
Our continuous investment in training provides our technical staff with the knowledge to efficiently service our customer’s equipment in a safe and confident manner.
