Description
A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Skilled General Maintenance II worker on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. The Skilled General Maintenance II worker will perform general construction, project work, minor, intermediate, and major maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities throughout the ATSU Kirksville campus in areas that include but are not limited to classrooms, administrative offices, research labs, patient care, mechanical rooms, roofs, student housing, athletic and outdoor areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced skills and experience to troubleshoot simple and complex issues with building systems including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, roofing, masonry, painting, carpentry and locksmithing in support of university daily operations.
• Respond to service requests from building occupants in a respectful and timely manner, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Work independently and/or on a team to layout projects, repairs, and maintenance efficiently to complete work assignments.
• Perform routine and emergency repairs, maintenance, and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing building systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis on routing and complex issues with building systems. Determine appropriate course of action to perform necessary repairs while ensuring minimal impact on students, patients, faculty, and staff.
• Respond to service requests from building occupants in a respectful and timely manner, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Perform general and complex construction tasks for project work.
• Perform electronic record keeping related to work requests.
• Operate university vehicles and responsible for safe operation and reporting any observed maintenance needs.
• Determine materials and equipment needed to complete construction, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Communicate with vendors to acquire necessary items in compliance with university purchasing policies.
• Refuel university vehicle after use when necessary.
• Respond to building emergencies, including occasional nights and weekends when necessary.
• Assist with snow removal and building related tasks during periods of inclement weather, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for all.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Skills & Experience

• High School plus one year technical training or schooling or equivalent job experience
• Over five years experience in trades work including but not limited to: Electrical, HVAC refrigeration, code requirements, plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, roofing, locksmithing; experience general construction; experience working in operations and maintenance and / or construction; knowledge of code requirement.
• Be able to operate common power tools in a safe and efficient manner. Work independently, able to layout complete jobs efficiently.
• Able to select appropriate materials for job independently. Professional finish skills including finish carpentry, sheet rock, painting.
• Specialized skills in addition to Skilled General Maintenance for example: brick/ masonry work, locksmithing, or concrete finish work.
• Ability to read and understand building drawings.
• Basic computer skills (i.e. researching vendors/suppliers).
• Frequently climb ladders, bend under equipment and crawl.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills (i.e. entering work orders, researching vendors/suppliers).
• Experience using a variety of facilities and construction equipment including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, forklift, and pallet jacks.
• Experience operating complex machinery and equipment.
• Ability to operation work utility vehicle and trailers.
• Have a valid driver's license.
