Description Career Certified is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the development of continuing education (CE) content for practicing engineers. This is a fully remote, part-time contract position.
About the Role As an SME, you will provide expert guidance for the creation and review of CE courses tailored to licensed engineers. Working alongside our Instructional Designers and Animators, you’ll help craft engaging, relevant, and compliance-aligned content that reflects current industry standards, regulatory changes, and engineering best practices.
Responsibilities: Provide subject matter expertise during the development and review of CE content. Collaborate with Instructional Designers to develop CE courses that meet state board and industry requirements. Develop content types including case studies, technical deep dives, and interview/panel conversations. Ensure accuracy, relevance, and instructional quality of all course materials. Requirements
Four-year degree in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline
Licensed P.E.
Minimum 7 years of professional engineering experience
Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following mechanical engineering disciplines:
HVAC and Refrigeration
Thermal and Fluid Systems
Machine Design and Materials
Robotics
Automotive
Nanotechnology
Other mechanical sub-disciplines
Prior experience with education, training, or technical writing is a plus but not required
