The Opportunity We’re a growth stage company who are looking for a technical leader who can help us scale. The role sits at the unique intersection of technical innovation, project execution, and customer service. As Director of Engineering, you will own the full lifecycle of TES projects – from initial site assessment through installation, commissioning, and ongoing optimization. You’ll lead a talented engineering team (mechanical, chemical, and controls engineers) while serving as the primary technical voice with customers at all levels, from facility managers to C-suite executives. The role requires someone who can bridge the worlds of industrial refrigeration, building automation, mechanical design, and project management. You’ll work hands-on with complex refrigeration systems and strategically represent VCS’ technical capabilities in the marketplace.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Some or All of the Following Attributes Commercial refrigeration expertise is required to assess site configuration, baseline energy use, and energy savings opportunities. Demonstrate effective leadership as the primary technical point of contact across sales opportunities, active projects, and completed installations. Clear communicator across the org chart and with clients. Organized project management skills. Capable implementor of processes and technical infrastructure to support scalable operations. Technical Project Leadership Energy Savings Optimization Project Execution (some travel required) Client Support and Troubleshooting Team Development & Mentorship Technical R&D and Implementation of Scalable Processes Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field 10+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration, building automation controls, or related field 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams or technical projects
