Description

Pipe Fabrication Facility located in Indian Trail, NC off Hwy 74.
No per diem for shop positions.
Pay depends on experience.

WELDER:

• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Set up and operate various types of arc-welding and cutting equipment.
• Plan work and select proper tools.

PIPE FITTER: 

• Selects the type and size of pipe, fittings, valves, steel, equipment, and related materials to assemble as instructed.
• Plans a sequence of operations, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, and allowances for weld shrinkage in preparation for welding.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together according to blueprints and project specifications.
• Moves parts into position manually or with hoists, cranes, jigs, fixtures, clamps, and jacks.
• Cuts, threads, bends, and shapes pipe and steel with various tools and equipment. 
• Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Performs minor maintenance and cleaning activities on tools, equipment, and the facility.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment.

Requirements

Welder Requirements:  

• Must have 3 or more years of job experience (not classroom) where you performed as a TIG/stick Welder on 6g process piping
• Take and pass a company welding test (2" schedule 80 carbon steel pipe)
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.

Pipe Fitter Requirements:

• Working knowledge of B31.5 piping code required.
• Technical or on-the-job experience as well as certifications are preferred.
• Take a company-written pipefitter’s test.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Apply basic math, geometry, and trigonometry mathematical functions to solve problems.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
