The Engineering Manager oversees the daily operations of the Engineering Department, ensuring the resort's physical assets are maintained to the highest standards. This role supports all operating departments by managing building systems, equipment, and grounds, while leading a skilled team of technicians.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Manager is responsible for implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing departmental budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Flexibility in scheduling-including evenings, weekends, and holidays-is required.

Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our colleagues and guests.
- Ensure proper execution of work order/systems requests and that items are completed in a timely manner by self and the team. Supervise necessary repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure an efficient department.
- Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items to the team and within the hotel.
- Inspects and observes equipment in operation for defects, locates causes of trouble in equipment or functionality of spaces and troubleshoots as appropriate.
- Ensure that meter readings are taken daily on heat and light and review information to evaluate consumption.
- Ensures Engineers maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas and Engineering shop.
- Strong background in the following: Hvac, refrigeration, vrf systems, boilers, steam rooms, kitchen appliances (hot and cold side), plumbing, electrical, laundry, painting, & carpentry.
- Assist Director of Engineering in supervising and training all Engineers in guest service, standard operating procedures, loss prevention, and other trainings as assigned.
- Ensure all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per Hyatt standards.
- Assists the Director of Engineering with any major projects, including administration of vendor contracts controlled by the engineering department, and scheduling services.
- Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel and communicate effectively with guests and fellow colleagues.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Review, & respond and complete HotSoS tickets.
- Ordering supplies.
- Completing RMIs & GMPs
- Strong problem-solving skills & accountability.
- Maintain a strong relationship with engineering team & the rest of the hotel departments.
Hybrid role: hands on & administration responsibilities
The salary range for this position $70,304 - $85,000 reflects the range we reasonably expect to pay.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Engineering Manager in a luxury hospitality setting
- Relevant technical degree or trade certification required
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for equipment repair and inspection
